Miss Terpening Weds
The wedding of Wayne Graham son of Mr. and Mrs. Vane Graham 313 Henrystreet, and Miss Gloria Hope Terpening, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Ernest Terpening Greenwood lane, took place Saturday afternoon at fiveo’clock.
William Graham, brother of the groom, and Miss Betty Rose Terpening,sister of the bride, witnessed the ceremony performed by Justice ofthe Peace Henry P. Beneze.
The bride was in a white net gown, over a satin foundation, and wore ashort veil, white accessories, gardenia corsage, and a gold necklace.Satin streamers fell down the front of the gown, which had asweetheart neckline, long sleeves and a full skirt.
The bridesmaid was in a pink Satin frock, fashioned along linessimilar to that in the bridal gown, white accessories and a pinkcarnation corsage.
Mr. and Mrs. Graham are residing at 704 Franklin avenue.

Vane L. Graham, 80, died unexpectedly Friday, April 30, 2004, atBarnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born Nov. 25, 1923, in Alton to Vane V. and Blanche May(Everett) Graham.

He married the former Gloria Hope Terpening on July 14, 1945. Shesurvives.

Before his retirement, he was employed for 40 years as a line workerat Colonial Bakery and was a member of the Bakery and ConfectioneryUnion Local 4. He was a member of the Alton-Godfrey Sportsman Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sisters, Viola Siglockof California, Lenora Ketchum of Wood River, Phyllis Chamberlain ofGodfrey and Mary Byrne of Ballwin; a sister-in-law and her husband,JoAnn and Brad Berg of Clearwater, Fla.; and several nieces andnephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Terry; a brother,William Graham; and two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, June andJames McLaughlin and Betty and Lee Logan.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elias-Smith FuneralHomes and Crematory in Alton, where funeral services will be held at10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice.
