Glassbrenner-Van Pelt Wedding.
Mr. and Mrs. George L. Glassbrenner and son, Fred, have returned fromJerseyville where they went to attend the marriage, yesterday, oftheir son, Lenny Glassbrenner to Miss Lenora Van Pelt, daughter ofJustice and Mrs. Van Pelt of that city. The wedding took place at thehome of the bride’s parents and  only family relatives of both werepresent. A wedding supper followed the ceremony. The newly weds willlive, for a time at least, at the home of the bride’s parents. Thebridegroom was born and reared here and has hundreds of friends whowill wish him complete happiness in his new life. He has a goodposition in Jerseyville. The bride has visited here often and has manyfriends here and in her own city. Both will be followed, by thesincere best wishes of all Altonians.

Glassbrenner
PLAINVIEW - George Leonard Glassbrenner, 80, of Plainview for the past10 years, died at 2:45 p.m. Thursday at a Jacksonville hospital.
He was born Jan. 31, 1892 in Alton and married the former Abby VanPelt.
Mr. Glassbrenner had been an insurance salesman and served with theCoast Guard during World War I.
Surviving are his widow, Abby, at home; a son, Fred of Plainview andfive grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Jacoby-WiseFuneral Home in Shipman with the Rev. Carlos Bryant of Brightonofficiating. Burial will be in Shipman City Cemetery.
Masonic rites will be held at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home wherefriends may call after 5 p.m. today.

The Glassbrenner family resided inJerseyville for many years where Mr Glassbrenner was associated withWayne V Williams in the Williams & Glassbrenner Barbershop and laterwas an insurance salesman. He served with the Coast Guard in WWI.Surviving are his wife, Lenora (Van Pelt) Glassbrenner; 1 son Fred ofPlainview and 5 grandchildren. Masonic rites were held.
