Redmond-Poole Nuptials
Tuesday Evening.
Miss Sadie Poole became the bride of Fred Redmond Tuesday evening at8:30 o’clock, the ceremony being performed by Rev. M. A. Tarrant atthe residence of Rt. Rev. Bishop Ryan on State street. The young bridewas attended by Miss Iva Redmond, sister of the bridegroom, whileWilliam Rielley was best man, No other relatives witnessed theceremony.
After the wedding the bridal party went to the home of the groom’smother, Mrs. William Redmond, on Bluff street where a bridal supperwas served.
Only members of the immediate families were guests at the supper. Asocial evening followed, during which the young people received thecongratulations of relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Redmond will make their home with the former’s mother.Mr. Redmond is employed at the Western Cartridge Company and onaccount of his work is helping turn out cartridges for the U. S. A.,the newly wedded couple decided to postpone their wedding trip until alater date.
Both Mr. Redmond and his bride have many friends throughout the citywho extend to them their best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.

Sadie G. Redmond, 83, of Alton, died at 8 p.m Tuesday in St. JosephHospital after a short illness.
Surviving are her husband. Fred A. Redmond, whom she married Aug. 13,1918, in Alton; one daughter, Betty Farley of Alton; a son, Jack, alsoof Alton; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren: three sisters.Lucille Gage of Rancho Sante Fe, Calif., Mary Matthews of Trenton,Mich., and Juanita Poore ot Alton; and one brother, Carl A. Poore ofDenver, Colo.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m Thursday at StatenFuneral Home with the Rosary recited at 8 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a m. Friday at St. Mary’sCatholic Church with burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
