--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rhoda Hensley was born ca 1780/90 in Washington Co, VA (age based onlyon 1830 census). She married Daniel Casteel in 1809 in Knox Co, TN.Ichabod Hensley was the bondsman for the marriage. I'm not sure whichIchabod this was. She had a brother named Ichabod C. Hensley per the1819 Scott Co, VA court record. This could be the Ichabod Hensley bornca 1780/90 or another one. Rhoda and Daniel were listed on the 1830Knox Co, TN census. I didn't find them in 1840 or 1850. I have datathat says they both died ca 1834 in Bond Co, IL. I have noverification yet. However, their children were marrying in the 1830'sand 1840's in Pike Co, IL and many remained there a number of years.Rhoda is proven to be part of the Larkin Hensley family by the 1819Scott Co, VA court case, which also names her husband Daniel Casteel.

UPDATE ON MARTY GRANT'S WEB SITE
Rhoda Hensley was born ca 1780/90 in Washington Co, VA. Her birthrange is based solely on the 1830 census which gave her age as 40-49(born ca 1780/90). I have no other records to compare this with. Shewas listed second on the 1819 Scott County, Virginia Court case, afterher sister Agnes. Rhoda apparently moved with her widowed mother toKnox Co, TN between 1806 and 1808.
On 18 Sep 1809, Daniel Casteel obtained a marriage bond in Knox Co, TNto marry "Rody Hensley". The bondsman was Ichabod Hensley, (presumablythe one born ca 1780/90, who later moved to Morgan Co, AL.), who iseither her brother, or perhaps Uncle or 1st cousin. Daniel Casteel wasborn ca 1790/1800 (per 1830 census). Casteel researchers list hisparents as Francis and Mary (---) Casteel. I don't know if that isproven or not for Daniel was not named in the Will of Francis Casteel. If that connection is correct, then Daniel Casteel is a first cousinto Abednego Casteel, who at this point, became his brother-in-lawalso.
Back on 26 Apr 1808, Daniel Casteel was bondsman for the marriage ofAbednego Casteel and Agnes Hensley in Knox Co, TN. Daniel and Abednegowere either brothers or first cousins.
The 1810 and 1820 census records are lost for Knox County, Tennessee, but presumably, Daniel Casteel would have been listed in Knox Co, TNthose years.
Both Daniel Casteel and wife Rhoda were named in the aforementioned1819 Scott Co, VA Court case.
Daniel Casteel was listed on the 1830 census next to Susanna Hood(Rhoda's sister) who was next to Abednego Casteel (married to Rhoda'ssister Agnes). William Childress (1750/60) and James Childress(1770/80) were nearby as well, perhaps related.

According to information shared by Laura Hensley, Daniel and RhodaCasteel took their family and left Knox Co, TN sometime shortly after1830 and moved to Bond Co, IL.
Apparently, both Daniel and Rhoda died in Bond Co, IL ca 1834.Guardian records show heirs Franklin (or Francis), Stephen, Charlotty,Nancy Jane, and Melviny Casteel. Calvin Henley was appointed guardian.I don't think that is a typo for Hensley but it could be. Either way Idon't know who Calvin is.
Some family data on Daniel and Rhoda's children was given in a Casteelbook (I don't know the title) written by Lois Allen and FrancisCasteel. The book mentions a story handed down that Daniel and Rhodacontracted cholera and died on the migration from Tennessee toIllinois, but they died in Kentucky en-route. The children werebrought to IL by the other relatives.
The book also mentions that Mary Casteel Wills died in 1855 left itemsto Daniel Casteel's children. I have not seen her will, but I wouldassume she was an aunt to the children.
