Death of Anton Glassbrenner
Anton Glassbrenner, 66, died Sunday at 3 a. m. at St. Anthony’sInfirmary, where he was taken Tuesday for treatment. His death was theresult of a complication diseases.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Leo Pohlman; one son, George B.Glassbrenner of Alton, and one grandson; also seven sisters, Mrs.Ellen Wade, Mrs. Barbara Boady, Mrs. Joseph Kohler, Mrs. John Toupno,Mrs. Bruce Rintoul, Mrs. Mary Grenzbach, all of Alton, Mrs. SadieStarr of Chicago, and three brothers, William of Alton, Peter ofAlton-Jerseyville road, and John Glassbrenner of St. Louis.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from theStreeper funeral home, interment being Oakwood cemetery.
Mr. Glassbrenner was born Newbern, Jersey county, Aug. 22, 1869.Moving with his parents the North Side, he spent practically hisentire life here. Mrs. Glassbrenner died Jan. 26. Mr. Glassbrenner hadbeen making his home with his aunt, Mrs. Sadie Glassbrenner, of WestElm street. For many years he worked for his uncle, the late FredGlassbrenner, a veterinary. It was while working for his uncle that hereceived the nick name of  “Doc”, many of his acquaintances notknowing his first name. He also worked for a number of years at theIllinois Corrugated Paper Co.

Anton Glassbrenner Funeral Services
There was a large gathering of relatives and friends at the Streeperfuneral home this afternoon to pay tribute to the memory of AntonGlassbrenner, whose death occurred Sunday in St. Anthony’s infirmary.
Services at the funeral home were at 2 o’clock with the Rev. O.Heggemeier, pastor of the Evangelical and Reformed Church,officiating.
Mrs. J. P. Bosley sang two selections, “Somewhere a Voice is Calling”and “Someday We’ll Understand.” Her accompanist on the organ was Mrs.Helen Berry. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery.
Pallbearers Edgar Paul, Bert Gent, Leonard Luly, Lester Vaughn,William Blakely and Yerkes Hagerman.
