GARY CHAMBERLAIN
ALTON -Gary K. Chamberlain, 84, passed away at 4:07 p.m. on Wednesday,October 21, 2015 at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton.
He was born on August 6, 1931 in Alton, Ill., the son of Leslie W. andEdna Lucille (Tingley) Chamberlain.
He married Phyllis J. Graham in Alton on May 1, 1954. She survives.
Gary began his career as a service technician with Sears, Roebuck onAugust 8, 1951 and retired on August 8, 1993. He was a corporal of theUnited States Army during the Korean conflict and was stationed in Germany at the time. Gary enjoyed ridingmotorcycles, helping others with repairs, refinishing furniture andsign painting, and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Dale Chamberlain ofBrighton; a sister, Barbara Bachman of St. Louis; two grandchildren,Laura Chamberlain and significant other, John Kiser of WoodsonTerrace, Mo., and Craig Chamberlain and significant other, EricaMcCain of Alton.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother,Leslie Chamberlain Jr., and a sister, Judith Ann Chamberlain ininfancy.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at Elias, Kallaland Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Funeral service will be held at 11a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2015 at thefuneral home.
Interment will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey with fullmilitary rites presented by the Alton VFW post 1308.
