Car-train crash kills three

OVERLAND, Mo. (AP)
Three persons were killed and a fourth critically injured today when acar crashed into a train at Overland.

Authorities identified the dead as Steven Hand, 20, of East St. Louis,Ill., who was driving the car, Paul Dennison of Overland and his wife,Tammy, 20.

Hospitalized was Nathan Nipps, 19, of Fairview Heights, Ill.

Authorities said the car apparently ran through a deadend roadbarricade and struck the Rock Island Freight train.

Police said one of the box cars was derailed.
