George Graham

ALTON - George Clifford Graham, 78, died suddenly at 2 p.m. Thursday,Jan. 22, 1998,  at Saint Anthony's Health Center in Alton.

Born in Alton Dec. 14, 1919, he was a son of George B. and Minnie P.(Logan) Graham.

He was the Globe-Democrat dealer in the Alton area for 23 years andalso operated Booth Barber Shop on Milton Road in Alton for 10 years.He was a member of the Alton Eagles Lodge.

He married Estella Clark June 21, 1940. She passed away Sept. 15,1981.

He later married Pearl (Watkins) Simpson Jan. 20, 1983, in Alton. Shesurvives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Gail Grader of Jerseyville; two sons,Gregory Graham of Alton and Gary Graham of Merced, Calif.; sevengrandchildren; a great-grandchild; , and a sister, Judy Millering ofBethalto.

He was preceded in death by a grandson.

Private memorial services will be held Wednesday at Staten FuneralHome in Alton.

Burial will be in Upper Alton Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to theIllinois Heart Fund.
