Services held for Mildred D Callender

Mildred Deloris, youngest daughter of Stella and Charles Callender,was born Jan. 6. 1907 at Milton, Ill., and departed this life after anillness of two years at the home of her sister in Pearl, Ill., Feb. 3,1925. Being 18 years and 28 days of age.

She spent her childhood in the vicinity of Milton and Pearl andgraduated from the eighth grade at Pearl with the Class of 1922. Shecompleted the first year in the Pittsfield High School just before shewas taken sick, and her outlook on life was very bright.

Two years ago she contracted the dreaded disease Tuberculosis and fora while was given the rest cure at her home in Pittsfield.  LastFebruary her mother was stricken with the same disease and they wereboth taken to St. John's Sanitarium in Springfield,
III.. where Mildred stayed for three months.

But being dissatisfied by being away from loved ones, her father builta T. B. outdoor sleeping house and she was brought home. This housewas in close proximity to the home of her sister and she had constantcare and attention. Every thing was done for her that could be donewith medicine and open air treatment, the ministeration of a lovingfather, sisters, good neighbors and friends, but the condition provedtoo much to be coped with.

She leaves to mourn their loss, a mother who is now in a sanitarium, afather, two sisters.
and many relatives besides scores of friends who had grown to loveher.

Funeral services at the Church of Christ, Thursday at 2:00 p.m.Interment at Green pond Cemetery.
