Invitations already have been mailed by the parents of thebride-elect, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Welch, 545 Acton Ave., Wood River,for the wedding ceremony, which will be an event of Saturday, Aug. 11,in First Methodist Church, Wood River. Miss Welch has selected Miss Mary Helen Shaw as her maid of honor,Mrs. Staff as bridesmaid and Mary Lynnette Welch, her niece, as flowergirl. Harold L. Chamberlain will be his brother’s best man, and RobertWelch, brother of the bride-to-be, will be groomsman. Michael Staff,son of Mrs. William Staff, will carry the rings. Among recent courtesies honoring Miss Welch was a prenuptial party atwhich her maid of honor, Miss Shaw, was hostess in the Welch residenceTuesday night. In attendance were 14 guests, who showered the honoree with gifts of amiscellaneous nature and played honeymoon bunco for diversion. Gameprize winners were Mrs. Jerry Dean, Mrs. Millie Moulton, Mrs. HaroldW. Chamberlain, mother of the prospective bridegroom, and Miss Welch. The gift table was centered with a large crepe paper sprinkling candecorated in blue and white, the color motif for the occasion. Floral arrangements also were used throughout the home. |
