Glassbrenner
W. Ray Glassbrenner, 81, formerly of Alton, died at the Soldier’s &Sailor’s Home, Quincy, Ill., Sunday, where he had been a patient forthe past six years.
During his early life, he was self-employed in advertising and laterwas a salesman for Schmoeller’s Shoe Store.
Born in Jersey County, Dec. 25, 1887, the World War I veteran waspreceded in death by his wife, Minnie, in 1963.
Only survivors are a brother, Emmett Glassbrenner of Tacoma, Wash.;and cousins.
The Rev. Paul Krebs will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesdayat Gent Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Alton City Cemetery.
Visitation at the chapel will be after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
